I was hoping someone can advise me of my options. I have had my ebay account since 2009, have only been actively using this account for purchasing in the last 18 months. I recently tried to activate the sellers account via telephone pin. This was not possible, I was directed to customer support. Customer support requested that I send proof of address and a copy of my passport. This they stated in their messages was due to previous account activity from my other accounts. I requested politely to get further info as I have no other ebay accounts. Only a Marktplaats account. They stated that they do not have clearence to give me any further info. I have strong reservations about sending this kind of identity over the internet. I understand that support is linked to your seller account, that high ranking accounts receive more support, flexibility. Is there a known way to solve this without sending scans of sensitive data which is against all advice from the authorities. They have my bank confirmed, which is linked to my address and I have received several items through the global shipping progrram. Is there a way to directly communicate with someone that could at least enlighten me to the "previous account activity" which is also a concern of mine. Any help is greatly appreciated.
